Tetra Pak is designed to protect liquids from external bacteria and moisture. Traceability is crucial as it will often contain long-life products such as milk, juice, sauces, or soups. Therefore, manufacturers must choose a reliable, industrial coder that can keep up with the high throughput rates whilst also applying durable, quality batch numbers or best before dates.
Tetra Pak coding solutions
Although Tetra Pak comes in all shapes and sizes; form, fill, and seal machinery will be extensively used on the production lines. Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) printers can be easily integrated into this machinery. The compact units fit into confined spaces and do not require regular maintenance or operator intervention, resulting in increased uptime.
TIJ can print 180 degrees, either downwards onto the top or sides of cartons. With a throw distance of 1-5mm, the placement of the print is dependent on whether the product has any obstructions such as a lid. However, it is also possible to apply code directly to the bottle cap.
