Horticulture plants moving across a conveyor

Horticulture

Produce durable, high-quality prints on horticulture packaging that can withstand harsh, outdoor environments.

Coding horticultural products on-line

Print julian dates, batch numbers and barcodes direct to horticultural packaging with our compact thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers. The maintenance free coders prove easy to integrate onto production lines, with waterproof IP rated jets available that can withstand harsh, horticultural environments.

For flower bouquets, we offer solutions to apply printed labels to flow wrap. Alternatively, our TIJ printers are equipped to apply information directly to the film.

Feeding systems - off-line coding

For flat form horticulture packaging like seed packets, our range of feedings systems will reduce labour, time, and costs whilst maximising efficiency. When combined with a labelling or coding system they will produce consistent, durable codes. Taking the coding process offline allows you to switch between batches and change printed data, perfect for seeds and plant tags.

Large character marking (LCM)

For outer cases, our high-resolution large area printers offer a low-maintenance alternative to labelling that reduces waste and costs. The innovative systems are capable of printing verifiable barcodes, text and graphics on areas up to 500mm wide.

Applications

Thermal Inkjet X1 Jet printer on horticulture, spray bottle production line
  • The X72 Jet Unit proved itself very quickly- zero downtime, was easy to use and accommodated all our print data requirements. Our savings based on direct box printing versus label print and apply are more than £3.5K per year, per unit.

    Westland Horticulture

  • At peak times we are overprinting between 40,000 and 50,000 tags per week. With the RF Lite we free up 2 or 3 members of staff and save labour, time and money.

    Florna Plants

  • The cost-savings have been significant for us. A price per print study was recently carried out in Holland where they use the same printers, and it worked out at 2.6p per thousand prints.
