Why is hot foil still used for coding?

Hot foil offers high quality print for a low capital outlay with modest consumable costs and minimal maintenance.

Although the engraved type must be manually set in the type-holder, the time taken is incidental if the information does not change within several hours of production.

Hot Foil coders have been fitted to labelling systems for many years and still offer high speed print and durable code due to the heat and pressure used to make the impression.

Finally, small fonts are managed better than any other technology and three lines of 2mm print can be made at a print height of only 10mm – even using an OCR-B font if code verification is required.
